DANNY WISER
Danny is a journalist from the UK whose work has appeared in a wide range of publications which include The Economist, The Guardian and The Telegraph. He has also appeared live across different broadcasters, most notably BBC News as well as BBC World Service.
Having qualified as a Gold Standard NCTJ Journalist in 2015, he has since been motivated to follow a fruitful career as a multimedia journalist across the globe. In 2019 Danny completed his Masters’ degree in International Relations at the University of Nottingham (with a year of study at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic) through which he acquired an extensive knowledge of global politics and current affairs, making him well-equipped to report on issues across the planet.
After graduating Danny continued covering various topics as a freelancer and launched a popular world music e-magazine, completing the feat of listening to and reviewing an album from every country in the world. Following a stint at the BBC, as part of their 50:50 The Equality Project team in the fight to increase diverse representation within the media, Danny has kept his toes in the cause-led space, assisting NGO unconnected.org with their mission to combat the global digital divide.
As a fluent Spanish speaker, Danny headed to Guayaquil in 2022. He has been reporting on the ongoing crisis in Ecuador from afar since the start of 2024.
